One daytime security position at the Heart River Correctional Center. Four 10-hour shift work week and workdays rotate on a monthly basis. Position salary is $4,004 per month. Duties include:1) Protection of institutional property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.2) Transports of residents and delivery runs. 3) Providing security in living units when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma/GED and two years of training or experience in law enforcement or security operations; or two years of college. Must have a valid Class D drivers license. Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to work with staff and supervise juveniles, and communication skills to express ideas clearly and concisely. This position will be responsible for filling needs in the areas of education administration and teaching for a virtual school. The amount of time dedicated to each of these areas will vary based on the time of year and the changing dynamics of CDE's fast-paced work and learning environment. This position will report directly to the assistant superintendent, and may assist the directors of curriculum, learning, and the dean of students. This is a great mentorship opportunity for a teacher looking to transition into an administrative role. Administrative duties may include:Models and coaches on best practice using data, applications, and pedagogy to inform and guide academic and instructional decisions for assigned teachers.Observes, documents, and provides feedback through informal observations and meetings with assigned teachers. Reports identified trends to the Director of Learning to guide continuous improvement.Evaluates assigned teachers.Provides onboarding and offboarding to assigned teachers.Responds to general questions from students, parents, learning coaches, teachers and schools and connects them with the appropriate CDE resources.Assists with managing and adjusting teacher workloads based on incoming enrollments.Assists with collecting and reviewing IEPs/504 Plans/ILPs to determine which accommodations apply to learners in a virtual setting.When delegated, resolves escalated teacher, parent, learning coach, and student concerns in alignment with the CDE mission and values while ensuring compliance with policies.Teaching duties may include:Facilitate online, prebuilt courses, providing timely coaching and feedback to students to assist with their academic progress.Implement online accommodations for students with IEPs/504 plans/ILPs.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress.Foster academic relationships with teachers, parents, and learning coaches, to ensure a positive learning experience.Maintain curriculum integrity in courses and seek continual improvement in assessing students online.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have the following minimum qualifications at the time of the interview:Bachelor's degree in education or related field.Current ND Educator's Professional Licensure or current out-of-state Educator's Professional License with the ability to obtain a ND LIcense within one month of hire. Qualified to teach in at least one core content area (Math, English, Social Studies, Science or Physical Education) at the high school level. At least 3 years of teaching experience.Experience interpreting and implementing IEPs/Section 504 Plans/ILPs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in educational leadership or a related field.Credentialed in multiple high school content areas.Current ND K-12 principal credential.One year of education administration experience.Experience with competency-based education and teaching online.
