Registered Walsh county. Born, Shawnee, N. Dak., April 11, 1894, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - grainbuyer. Inducted at Grand Forks on March 30, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company H, 2nd Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 20, 1918; Company I, 139th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine).
