Registered Traill county. Born, Horace, N. Dak., Feb. 1, 1890, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - tinsmith. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at Fargo on Aug. 6, 1917. Sent to Parris Island, S. C. Served in 46th Company, Norfolk, Va., to June 12, 1918; 58th Company, to July 3, 1918; Company B, Headquarters Overseas Depot, Quantico, Va., to Aug. 7, 1918; Company C, 6th Separate Battalion, to Aug. 14, 1918; arrived in France, Aug. 27, 1918; Served in 80th Company, 6th Regiment, to death. Grade: Corporal, March 29, 1918. Engagement: Meuse-Argonne (Champagne).
