Registered Grand Forks county. Born, Minto, N. Dak., April 21, 1893, of German parents. Occupation - tractor engineer. Inducted at Grand Forks on July 22, 1918. Sent to Camp Custer, Mich. Served in 42nd Company, 11th Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade, to Aug. 18, 1918; Supply Company, 40th Field Artillery, to death.
