Not a registrant, enlisted prior. Born, Fairmount, N. Dak., Dec. 8, 1898, of American parents. Occupation - clerk. Enlisted in the Navy at Minneapolis, Minn., on April 28, 1917. Served at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill., to June 1, 1917; Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, Ill., to death. Grades: Apprentice Seaman, 34 days; Seaman 2nd Class, 24 days.
