Biography:

Not a registrant, under age. Born, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, April 22, 1899, of American-English parents. Occupation - garageman. Enlisted in Company A, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Minot, on July 14, 1917. Called into federal service, World War, on July 15, 1917. Served in Company A, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Supply Company, 164th Infantry), to Oct. 5, 1918; Company K, 164th Infantry, to Oct. 20, 1918; Company K, 23rd Infantry, to death. Grade: Wagoner, April 1, 1918. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Engagement: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne.
