Registered Stutsman county. Born, Windsor, N. Dak., April 14, 1893, of German parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Jamestown on April 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Company G, 2nd Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade, to April 26, 1918; Company L, 137th Infantry, to death. Overseas from May 3, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine).
