Biography:

Registered Griggs county. Born, Hanska, Minn., Oct. 6, 1893, of Norwegian parents. Occupation - laborer. Inducted at Cooperstown on Feb. 23, 1918. Served in Company D, 319th Engineers, to March, 1918; Company G, 1st Replacement Regiment, Engineers, to May 3, 1918; Company B, 116th Engineers, to July 6, 1918; Company C, 2nd Engineers, to death. Overseas from May 10, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensives: Aisne-Marne; St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Marbache and Limey (Lorraine); Chateau-Thierry (Ile-de-France).
