Registered Wilkin county, Minn. Born, Elm Springs, Iowa, Aug. 30, 1893, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Breckenridge, Minn., on June 23, 1918. Sent to Camp Grant, Ill. Served in 20th Company, 161st Depot Brigade, to July 18, 1918; Company F, 344th Infantry, to death. Grade: Corporal, Oct. 1, 1918. Overseas from Sept. 9, 1918, to death.
