Not a registrant. Born, Mound City, Mo., May 30, 1895, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in Company F, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Carrington, on July 3, 1917. Called into federal service, World War, on July 15, 1917. Served in Company F, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (162nd Field Hospital, 116th Sanitary Train), to April 7, 1918; 102nd Sanitary Train, to April 9, 1918; 103rd Field Hospital, to May 9, 1918; 102nd Ambulance Company, to Oct. 6, 1918; Medical Detachment, 102nd Infantry, to death. Overseas from Dec. 13, 1917, to death. Engagements: Defensive: Champagne-Marne. Offensive: Aisne-Marne; St. Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sectors: Toul-Boucq, Rupt, Troyon (Lorraine); Pas Fini (Ile-de-France).
