Biography:

Registered Stark county. Born, Dickinson, N. Dak., Sept. 7, 1895, of Bohemian parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at Dickinson on June 2, 1918. Sent to Parris Island, S. C. Served at Quantico, Va., from July 24, 1918, to Aug. 13, 1918. Arrived in France, Aug. 27, 1918. Company B, 5th Separate Battalion, to death. Engagements: St. Mihiel Offensive; Meuse-Argonne Offensive (Champagne Sector).
