Biography:

Registered LaMoure county. Born, Peshtigo, Wis., Oct. 15, 1889, of German-American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at LaMoure on April 29, 1918. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Battery C, 338th Field Artillery, to May 15, 1918; Company L, 358th Infantry, to death. Overseas from June 20, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: St. Mihiel. Defensive Sectors: Villers-en-Haye (Lorraine).
