Registered Logan county. Born, Salem, S. Dak., July 11, 1893, of American parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Napoleon on Sept. 18, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Battery D, 338th Field Artillery, to Dec. 1, 1917; Battery E, 335th Field Artillery, to June 13, 1918; 45th Company, 12th Battalion, 162nd Depot Brigade, to July 27, 1918; Ordnance Guard Company No. 7, Camp Metuchen, N. J., to Aug. 20, 1918; Ordnance Guard Company No. 10, Ancor, Ohio, to death.
