Biography:

Registered Burke county. Born, Courtland, Minn., May 12, 1895, of American-German parents. Occupation - farmer. Enlisted in Company A, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Minot, on July 26, 1917. Served in Company A, 2nd Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Supply Company, 164th Infantry), to death. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death.
