Biography:

Not a registrant, over age. Born, Dixon, Ill., Sept. 18,1880, of American parents. Occupation - area telephone manager. Appointed from civil life and commissioned Captain, in Officers Reserve Corps, at Bismarck, on June 21, 1917. Called into active service as a Captain, on July 20, 1917. Assigned to 309th Field Signal Battalion, Company B, to death. Promoted: Major, Nov. 28, 1917. Overseas from Sept. 9, 1918, to death. Previous military record: Wisconsin National Guard, for five years.
