Registered, Fallon county, Mont. Born, Culbertson, Nebr., May 13, 1894, of German parents. Occupation - salesman. Inducted at Baker, Mont., on June 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Lewis, Wash. Served in 17th Company, 5th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, to July 13, 1918; Company I, 159th Infantry, to Sept. 20, 1918; Company F, 307th Infantry, to death. Overseas from Aug. 8, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne. Defensive Sector: Foret-d'-Argonne (Lorraine).
