Registered McHenry county. Born, Spring Valley, Minn., Sept. 21, 1889, of (nationality of parents not given). Occupation - carpenter. Inducted at Towner on July 22, 1918. Sent to Camp Custer, Mich. Served in 48th Company, 12th Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade, to Aug. 16, 1918; Headquarters Company, 78th Infantry, to death. Grades: Private 1st Class, Aug. 24, 1918; Cook, Sept. 9, 1918; Sergeant, Oct. 1, 1918.
