Enlisted in Company H, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, at Jamestown, on June 8, 1917. Served in Company H, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard (Company H, 164th Infantry), to death. Grade: Cook, July 18, 1918. Overseas from Dec. 15, 1917, to death. Previous military record: Company H, 1st Infantry, North Dakota National Guard, in 1916, including Mexican border duty.
