Registered Slope county. Born, Oakes, N. Dak., Sept. 7, 1893, of Norwegian-Swedish parents. Occupation - farmer. Inducted at Amidon on Sept. 18, 1917. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa. Served in Battery E, 338th Field Artillery, to discharge. Grade: Cook, Nov. 1, 1917. Overseas from Aug. 18, 1918, to Jan. 5, 1919. Discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa, on Jan. 17, 1919, as a Cook.
