Federal Tuition Assistance (Army National Guard)

• Eligibility
  • Must be an ARNG Soldier in drilling status and remain in an active drilling status through the end date of the coarse or be a Soldier serving on Full Time National Guard Duty Operational Support (FTNGDOS) less than 179 days. Commissioned officers also must agree to remain a member of the selected reserve for at least four years after completion of the education or training for which the tuition is paid, and
  • Must have no active adverse flagging actions per AR 600-8-2 paragraph 1-12 throught 1-15.
  • Must have less than nine Absent Without Leave.Unsatisfactory Participation(AWOL/UNSAT actions) within the 12 months prior to submission for FTA application.
  • To continue eligibility, Soldiers must submit a documented degree/credential plan for record, outlining their education goal. This must be submitted prior ot the completion of nine semester hours (SH) (or equivalent) of coursework. Soldiers needing assistance with declaring an education goal or degree plan should contact the ARNG Education Support Center (ESC) at 1-866-628-5999 or esc@ngpec.org
  • Mobilized Soldiers or FTNGDOS/AGR Soldiers who do not otherwise meet the ACES Service Commitment requirements for ACES TA may be elibible to receive ARNG FTA.
  • If a soldier is not eligible IAW above criteria the State Education Services Officer (ESO) may request an exception to policy from NGB-ARM-EI.
