Patriots Day

HB 1169 passed the 66th legislative session in 2019 establishing the third Monday in April as "Patriots Day"

NDCC 01-03-17 reads:

1-03-17. Patriots' Day. The third Monday in April of each year is Patriots' Day. To commemorate the start of the American Revolutionary War and the battles of Lexington and Concord, the governor shall issue a proclamation each year designating the third Monday in April as Patriots' Day. This section may not be interpreted to make Patriots' Day a day on which schools and other entities are required to close.


Discharge Requests

Most Veteran’s benefits require that applicants provide a copy of their Form DD 214 or discharge record, which is evidence of their veteran status. This is an important document and must be safeguarded. In the State of North Dakota separation documents are considered confidential and privileged NDCC 37-18-11 (13). National Guard members may receive a NGB22 and/or NGB23 upon obtaining 20 years of satisfactory service (20 year letter).
