2017 Camp Grafton Deer hunt for Disabled Veterans

2017 Camp Grafton Disabled Veteran Hunt:                                                                            

          The Barnes County Veteran Service Office in cooperation with North Dakota Department of Fish and Game would like to announce the 2017 Camp Grafton

Disabled Veteran Hunt for Veterans who are:

  • 50% disabled or greater
    • ​Veteran or
    • Ex-guardsman
  • Unable to hunt in field alone
  • Accompanied by an able-bodied assistant

Applicants must:

  • Complete application below (With DD214 and VA Disability Award Letter)
  • Include completed 2017 ND Deer Gun License Application
  • $30 state resident license fee (Check payable to ND State Game and Fish Dept.)
  • Mail to Barnes County VSO by August 31,2017
  • ( license application and fee will be returned if not selected for the hunt-hunt is limited to 10 hunters)

​The Disabled Veteran Hunt will take place on Monday, November 13th and Tuesday, November 14th 2017 at Camp Grafton, ND. 

If veteran and assistant would want or need to stay over night accommodations are available on camp for $22 per person per night. This is at the Veterans expense.

Applications are due by August 31 and are available from any County Veteran Service Office or at this website: http://www.co.barnes.nd.us/dept/vet/

Discharge Requests

Most Veteran’s benefits require that applicants provide a copy of their Form DD 214 or discharge record, which is evidence of their veteran status. This is an important document and must be safeguarded. In the State of North Dakota separation documents are considered confidential and privileged NDCC 37-18-11 (13). National Guard members may receive a NGB22 and/or NGB23 upon obtaining 20 years of satisfactory service (20 year letter).
