Be sure to select the correct property tax year for the income tax return you are filing. For the 2008 income tax return, select the property tax year 2007. For the 2007 income tax return, select the property tax year 2006.

Note: Search results will only return the property’s current owner as recorded with the county at the end of 2008 for the 2007 property tax, or at the end of 2007 for the 2006 property tax.  If the property was sold during the year, the owner listed may not be the eligible owner for the property tax credit.  To be eligible to claim the property for the credit on the 2008 income tax return, you must have been the owner as of January 1, 2008.  To be eligible to claim the property for the credit on the 2007 income tax return, you must have been the owner as of January 1, 2007.
