Three New Employees Join The Office of State Tax Commissioner

Beckie Strege

Beckie Strege PictureBeckie Strege has recently joined the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner as an office assistant. Strege will provide administrative assistance to the commissioner's division and serve as the primary receptionist for the Office of State Tax Commissioner.

Strege enjoys the variety of responsibilities that come with her position as well as working with people. She brings the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner a wide range of experience. Strege has worked various office jobs, was a homemaker, and has spent time volunteering. Her most recent experience was working for the 2015 legislative session.

A native of McClusky, Strege currently resides in Bismarck with Kevin, her husband of 23 years. They have two children: Kristine (20) and Matthew (17). Strege enjoys gardening, a good book, and spending time with her family and friends. Staying active and focused on eating healthy are among her priorities; which is a good thing since she is also the department's wellness coordinator.

 

Marci Gilstad

Marci Gilstad PictureMarci Gilstad has recently joined the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner as a tax service specialist. Gilstad will assist taxpayers with the Taxpayer Access System (TAP), the Canadian refund process and general tax inquiries.

In her new role, Gilstad is most interested in learning more about the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner and helping taxpayers. She brings four years of office management experience to her position.

A native of Beach, Gilstad graduated cum laude from North Dakota State University in Fargo. She currently resides in Almont where she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family; riding and caring for her horse; and crafting, reading and exercising.

 

Ivy Serrano

Ivy Serrano PictureIvy Serrano has recently joined the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner as a programmer analyst. Serrano will be responsible for the analysis and design of solutions for complex task and problems. She will additionally provide support and backup for the operations of the information technology (IT) infrastructure.

Serrano appreciates that the part of the system she is developing will help many North Dakota taxpayers, and that her position allows her to have a positive impact on the community. She has a variety of experience related to her current position including former positions as a quality assurance engineer, a teaching assistant at the University of North Dakota (UND), and a Web programmer. Serrano obtained her undergrad from Holy Angel University in the Philippines and will complete her Master of Science from UND in August.

A native of Pampanga, Philippines, Serrano currently resides in Bismarck. In her spare time Serrano enjoys cooking (especially Filipino foods) and watching movies.
