Rauschenberger: North Dakota Property Tax Credit Programs Have Saved North Dakota Homeowners and Renters $32 Million in Past 3 Years

BISMARCK, N.D. – Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger today shared some statistics about North Dakota’s property tax credit programs and he encourages North Dakotans to see if they are eligible.

“Many North Dakotans are eligible for a property tax credit and don’t realize it,” Rauschenberger stated.  “Nearly 14,500 individuals took advantage of a property tax credit program in 2016. While these programs have helped a significant number of homeowners and renters, this may be only a portion of those eligible.”

North Dakota residents saved more than $32 million in the past three years thanks to the Homestead Property Tax Credit homeowner’s credit and renter’s refund, and the Disabled Veterans Property Tax Credit.
