Rauschenberger: Track your State Refund Online
BISMARCK, N.D. – Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger reminds individuals who have filed their North Dakota income tax return and are expecting a state refund that they can track their refund online. "The Tax Department online tool, Where's My Refund, allows taxpayers to track the processing of their state refund," said Rauschenberger. "Access to current, accurate information regarding the status of a tax return is available through the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The site is secure and the information is updated daily."
After entering their Social Security number, filing status and the exact amount of their expected refund, the taxpayer will know whether the Tax Department has received their return and if it has been processed. Taxpayers can track the progress of their return and know when their refund has been issued.
The refund inquiry system provides refund status information for current year original returns only. Taxpayers who file an amended return will not be able to use the online inquiry system to check the status of an amended return.
So far this year, the Tax Department has processed over 300,000 individual income tax returns, and has issued over 205,000 refunds.
To access "Where's My Refund?" or for other tax-related information, visit the Tax Department's website at www.nd.gov/tax, or follow the Tax Department on Facebook or YouTube.
