What are the qualifications for a special event permit?

Special event permits allow a Domestic Winery, a Domestic Distillery, or a Brewer Taproom licensee to operate at qualified special events.

A Domestic Winery qualifies for a special event permit at any off-premise event. A special event permit allows a Domestic Winery to, subject to local ordinance, give free samples of its wine, sell its wine by the glass, or sell wine in closed containers.

A Domestic Distillery qualifies for a special event permit at any off-premise event. A special event permit allows a Domestic Distillery to, subject to local ordinance, give free samples of its product, sell its product by the glass, or sell its product in closed containers.

A Brewer Taproom qualifies for a special event permit at any designated trade show, convention, festival, or similar event approved by the Tax commissioner. A special event permit allows a Brewer Taproom to, subject to local ordinance, give free samples of its beer, sell its beer by the glass, or sell its beer in closed containers.
