What are my sales tax responsibilities if I close or sell my business?

When a business is sold or closes, you must file a final North Dakota Sales, Use, and Gross Receipts Tax return within 15 days following the closing or selling of the business. Please contact our office to request a final return. Your permit card should be returned to our office when you submit the final return. If you have a current return to file, you may also complete the information in the upper right corner of the form indicating your last day of business, and the new owner if the business has been sold.
