January 15

Important note: Because Monday, January 15 falls on a Sunday and January 16 is a state holiday, any return, tax payment, or other required action is not due until Tuesday, January 17

  • 4th quarter installment for 2011 estimated income tax is due for calendar year-end taxpayers.

April 15

Important note: Because April 15 falls on a Sunday, and Monday, April 16, is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in the District of Columbia that affects the entire nation, the deadline is extended to April 17

  • 1st quarter installment for 2012 estimated income tax is due for calendar year-end taxpayers.
  • Annual corporation income tax return and tax are due for 2011 calendar year-end taxpayers. [Note: This date does not apply to a corporation that is a tax-exempt entity or cooperative. See May 15 and September 15.]

May 15

  • Annual corporation income tax return and tax are due for 2011 calendar year-end tax-exempt corporations that are required to report unrelated business taxable income.

June 15

  • 2nd quarter installment for 2012 estimated income tax is due for calendar year-end taxpayers.

September 15

Important note: Because September 15 falls on a Saturday, any return, tax payment, or other required action is not due until Tuesday, September 17

  • 3rd quarter installment for 2012 estimated income tax is due for calendar year-end taxpayers.
  • Annual corporation income tax return and tax are due for 2011 calendar year-end cooperatives.
