Miscellaneous Statutory Lien (MSL-1, MSL-2)
Statutory liens other than agricultural liens are verified statements filed in the Central Indexing System as miscellaneous statutory liens:
1. Insurance Liens:
Insurance liens are to be filed in the office of the County Recorder of the county or counties in which the property covered by the policy is located.
2. Repairmans Liens:
Repairmans liens are to be filed in the office of the County Recorder of the county in which the owner or legal possessor of the property resides.
The Miscellaneous Statutory Lien MSL-1 (SFN 51244) (26kb pdf) is used to file miscellaneous statutory liens.
A statutory amendment may be filed to correct the following:
- Social security or tax identification number of the debtor
- The spelling of the debtor's or lienholder's name
- Correct or change the address of the debtor or lienholder
The Miscellaneous Lien Amendment/Termination MSL-2 (SFN 52084) (138kb pdf) is used to amend or terminate miscellaneous statutory liens.
