Treasurer Kelly Schmidt distributes $35 million to counties, cities, and townships for special road projects
Bismarck, ND-June 13, 2011: Treasurer Kelly Schmidt announced today that non-oil and gas producing political subdivisions should expect to see deposits in their accounts for two special distributions totaling $35 million.
House Bill 1012 (the Department of Transportation budget) appropriated $60 million to Non-Oil Producing counties for transportation funding. This is one-time funding, distributed over two years. The first year distributions which were completed today totaling $35 million. The second year $25 million distribution will occur next year at the same time. Distribution amounts are available on our website at www.nd.gov/ndtreas. These funds are designated for road projects in the same manner as Highway and Township Road Distribution.
