The Library/Media Center is located in the Resource Center on campus. With a wide variety of books, magazines, videos and activities, the library is well used by school students and staff and is a source of information for the community and the state of North Dakota.
The NDSD/RCDHH Library/Media Center is open Monday through Friday during the school year. Specific areas of interest for families and professionals include resources on deafness, deaf culture, sign language, and disabilities. These materials may be checked out for loan by contacting the librarian.
Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP)
The CMP (Captioned Media Program) has been changed to DCMP (Described and Captioned Media Program) which means that there is now an added service for those who are blind, as well as those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Advances in technology dictate that the move to using DVDs is more economical for mailing and is convenient because of the ability to preview and select what you want online. Topics range from everything from children's stories to parenting to ASL lessons. You may visit the website www.dcmp.org to learn how to become a member and order free-loan educational media that is described, captioned, and available on the Internet and through the U.S. mail.
A select collection of the library depository of captioned videos is still available to NDSD/RCDHH students and staff; however, mailings have been discontinued. For more information, call 701-665-4400.
