Non-resident: adding lines of authority

Non-resident individuals must be licensed in their home state for any lines of authority requested on their North Dakota license.

Applicants must apply electronically to add lines of authority to a North Dakota non-resident insurance producer license. Paper applications will not be accepted. The only exceptions will be where NIPR computer programming will not support the submission of an electronic application.

Go to the NIPR website to apply electronically. The fee is $10 plus transaction fees.

Non-resident business entities must have at least one designated principal producer licensed in North Dakota for the lines of authority requested. Non-resident business entities must also have the lines of authority on their resident license and must have a current Certificate of Authority from the North Dakota Secretary of State.
