Bismarck, ND - As part of an ongoing effort to improve customer service and consumer protections at the North Dakota Insurance Department, Commissioner Jim Poolman today announced consumers can now file insurance-related complaints online at the Department's website, www.state.nd.us/ndins.
"My objective is to run this office as we would a business, which means we must adapt and cater to the ever-changing needs of our customers -- the citizens of North Dakota. We feel this is a great improvement in our customer service," Poolman said.
The Department's website also provides answers to frequently asked insurance questions, as well as providing specific information about companies.
The Insurance Department's Hotline is available during normal business hours 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, toll-free at 1.800.247.0560. "This new on-line complaint feature is a complement to our insurance information experts who take calls on the Hotline everyday," said Poolman. "Our new on-line complaint capabilities will allow consumers to contact us when it's most convenient for their own schedule, whether that means 5 a.m., 10 p.m., or on weekends."
