Bismarck, N.D. - Commissioner Jim Poolman announced today that Donald R. Canton joined the department as public information officer effective April 9. Canton, a journalist and academic, will assume responsibility for managing the department's media contacts and public communication.
"I'm pleased that Don will be able to help the department bring more helpful information to the consumers of North Dakota. Don's broad experience will help expand the ways that North Dakotans can learn about their Insurance Department," Commissioner Poolman said.
Among the projects underway, Poolman said, is a major upgrade of the agency's Web site, which will include additional content, a more user-friendly interface and a number of interactive features. The department will also offer new publications to enhance its benefit to both consumers and industry.
