The State of North Dakota wants your input on developing a Health Benefit Exchange Posted on 8/24/2011
BISMARCK, N.D.-The State of North Dakota wants your input about the development of a Health Benefit Exchange in North Dakota. Required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Exchanges could serve as a one-stop shop for consumers and small businesses looking to purchase health insurance coverage.
The State is interested in consumers' opinions on important issues like: • Who should run the Exchange, the state or the federal government? • Would you like the choice of purchasing health insurance inside and outside (like it is now) of the Exchange?
Meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 in Bismarck; 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Fargo; 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Grand Forks; and 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in Minot. The goal of these meetings is to gather input, ideas and opinions from North Dakota's insurance consumers on the development of a Health Benefit Exchange. Group discussion will be led by facilitators asking Exchange-related questions.
