BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm was recently named chair of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' (NAIC) Life Insurance and Annuities (A) Committee.
The NAIC's Life Insurance and Annuities Committee considers issues relating to life insurance and annuities and reviews new life insurance products. The Committee oversees a working group devoted to annuity disclosure and the life and health actuarial task force.
"I'm honored to have been chosen by my fellow insurance commissioners to lead this committee, and I look forward to giving North Dakota a voice in life insurance issues on the national level," Hamm said.
Hamm also currently serves as chair of the NAIC's Principles Based Reserving Working Group and vice chair of the NAIC's Midwest Zone.
The NAIC, formed in 1871, is an organization of the chief insurance regulatory officials of the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. The NAIC serves the needs of consumers and the industry, with an overriding objective of supporting state insurance regulators as they protect consumers and maintain the financial stability of the insurance marketplace.
