Hamm revokes Fargo insurance agent's license Posted on 11/8/2010
BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm has revoked the license of Janet Lulay, a Fargo insurance agent. The revocation bars her from selling, soliciting or negotiating insurance in North Dakota.
Lulay accepted a check from an insurance client to pay premiums on a homeowner's policy and then deposited it into her own personal bank account.
"This consumer thought her money was going toward an insurance policy premium, but Ms. Lulay deposited it into her personal account instead," Hamm said. "This revocation ensures she can no longer work with North Dakota's insurance consumers."
The Department issued a cease and desist order against Lulay in September.
Lulay consented to the revocation, waiving her right to an administrative hearing. Consumers with questions about insurance policies through Lulay are encouraged to call the North Dakota Insurance Department at 1-800-247-0560.
