Hamm revokes Grand Forks insurance agent, business entity licenses

Posted on 11/8/2010

BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm has revoked the license of David Glessner, a Grand Forks insurance agent, and the business entity license of MAG Insurance, the business entity name by which Glessner conducts some or all of his insurance business. The revocation bars him from selling, soliciting or negotiating insurance in North Dakota.

Glessner accepted money from an insurance client, and then issued one or more falsified insurance policies and also failed to apply the money to an actual insurance policy. The company that was to be insured believed it had insurance coverage when in fact it did not.

"This revocation ensures Mr. Glessner can no longer work with North Dakota's insurance consumers," Hamm said.

The Department issued a cease and desist order against Glessner and MAG Insurance in July.

Glessner consented to the revocation, waiving his right to an administrative hearing. Consumers with questions about insurance policies through Glessner or MAG Insurance are encouraged to call the North Dakota Insurance Department at 1-800-247-0560.
