Hamm revokes Bismarck insurance agent Tanya Rud's license
BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm has revoked the license of Tanya Rud, a Bismarck insurance agent. The revocation bars her from selling, soliciting or negotiating insurance in North Dakota.

Rud worked for Brent Kitzan, a Bismarck insurance agent against whom the Department issued a cease and desist order in December. Rud obtained appointments with companies with which Kitzan could not get or keep his own appointment. Kitzan sold insurance products to clients, and Rud allegedly signed insurance forms for the companies with which Kitzan was not appointed.

She and Kitzan allegedly owe $24,000 to a bank. Also, one of Rud's appointments was recently terminated by an insurance company because she owes a commission chargeback that she hasn't repaid.

Rud signed the order, waiving her right to a hearing.

"Revoking Ms. Rud's license guarantees that she will no longer be working with North Dakota's insurance consumers," Hamm said.

The Insurance Department served Rud with a cease and desist order Jan. 3. Consumers with questions about insurance policies through Rud are encouraged to call the North Dakota Insurance Department at 1-800-247-0560.
