BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm announced today the creation of a dedicated Consumer Assistance Center at its south Bismarck location, 1701 S. 12th Street.
Beginning May 16, 2012, consumers who want to meet with Insurance Department staff to discuss insurance claims, policies and complaints, prescription drug assistance and Medicare are welcome to visit the Insurance Department's Consumer Assistance Center located on South 12th Street near University Drive. To ensure immediate assistance, consumers are encouraged to call the Department and set up an appointment whenever possible.
"In the past, consumers have had to navigate a busy parking lot, walk through the capitol building and take an elevator to see us," Hamm said. "Now, consumers will be able to park right in front of the building on South 12th Street and walk in to get help from our staff."
Previously located in the state capitol office, staff who work with property, casualty, life and health insurance issues relocated to the south office to join the State Health Insurance Counseling and Prescription Connection program staff, creating a one-stop shop for all consumer assistance needs.
The Department's south office is also home to its Special Funds division, including the Fire and Tornado Fund and Petroleum Tank Release Compensation Fund.
