Hamm revokes Bismarck agent's insurance license
BISMARCK, N.D.-North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm recently revoked the insurance license of Crystal Gayle Just, a Bismarck insurance agent who confessed to filing a false police report and an insurance claim for jewelry she initially declared stolen. The revocation bars her from selling, soliciting or negotiating insurance in North Dakota.

In August 2008, Just went to the West Fargo Police Department and reported four pieces of jewelry stolen. Around that same time, she filed an insurance claim for one jewelry item. WFPD's investigation revealed that Just had pawned one piece of jewelry that she claimed stolen.

Faced with mounting evidence, Just withdrew her insurance claim and confessed that she knew where all the jewelry was and that it had not been stolen. She said she filed the false report and false claim even though she knew it was wrong because she needed money. She was convicted of one count of false information to law enforcement.

"Ms. Just's actions are unacceptable and revoking her insurance license ensures that she will no longer be able to work with North Dakota's insurance consumers," Hamm said.

Consumers with questions about their insurance policies through Just are welcome to call the North Dakota Insurance Department at 1-800-247-0560.
