Wetland Credits Database
The Wetland Credits Database connects farmers and ranchers who need wetland credits with agricultural producers who have wetlands available for lease or sale. Producers with available wetlands or who need wetland credits are invited to complete the questionnaire below and submit it electronically. If a potential match is found, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) will contact the two parties and exchange contact information with them. NDDA will not publish the names and contact information of individual farmers and ranchers. The information, however, is subject to North Dakota’s open records laws, and any open records request must be honored. For more information, please contact NDDA at 1-800-242-7535
Acreage that can be used for mitigation must be degraded, drained, or created wetlands and are currently under some form of cultivation. Wetlands that have been restored under the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) are great candidates for mitigation. Wetlands that have never been farmed cannot be used for mitigation purposes. If you have a question if you land may qualify for mitigation contact your local NRCS office. Contact information may be found at: http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/main/nd/contact/local/
