Organic Field Day slated for Dickinson
BISMARCK – Crop production and retail sales are the focus of the Organic Field Day, Wednesday, July 11, at the North Dakota State University Research Extension Center in Dickinson.
The free event begins at 9 a.m. (MDT)
Mark Haas, director of procurement, and Shauna Sadowski, director of sustainability for Annie’s, Inc., will offer the featured presentation, “Growth in Organic Retail Sales…Does this Translate as Growth in Producer Revenues?”
Other speakers from NDSU and Montana State University will give presentations on long-term organic cropping systems, organic production of dry peas, managing weeds in organic operations and organic zero-till production. Representatives of the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society (NPSAS) will discuss their breeding club project.
The field day includes tours of the research station, lunch and a watermelon social.
