North Dakota to Update State Aviation System Plan
This upcoming year, we are working towards updating our State Aviation System Plan which will help document aviation needs, guide funding decisions, and identify the future blueprint of the aviation system of North Dakota.

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission works hard to ensure that the state is supportive of all aviation activities. Whatever kind of flying you do - as an aerial applicator, military helicopter pilot, air ambulance pilot, student pilot, airline pilot, or flying aircraft remotely – there is a welcome sign and a sincere desire to allow everyone to safely operate together.
Our staff is here to serve the public on all things related to aviation. If you have an interest in aviation, there is an activity for you, and Joshua will help you to the best fit for you. Kyle is the source of all information related to airports and facilities. Sheila can help you with all things related to aerial applicators and aircraft registrations. Malinda has the answers on grants and funding.
For those of you who fly low, I urge you to check out the North Dakota Aerial Applicator Alert Areas link at the bottom of the page. It will direct you to a map which shows all known unmarked towers, sensitive crop areas, bee activity, and unmanned aircraft operations.
The Aeronautics Commission is actively involved with the many national aviation organizations, and in the state we work closely with the North Dakota Aviation Council, which represents the various state aviation organizations. Contact us if you'd like to receive the North Dakota Aviation Quarterly.
Our state aviation planning chart and airport directory are free for you. Stop by our office at the Bismarck airport, say hello, and pick up your copy.
Wishing you smooth flying,
