Aviation Education Grants

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission is tasked with promoting state aeronautical education programs. This is routinely done through existing resources, referrals to helpful contacts, and funding.

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has approved educational grants for a number of purposes, ranging from $120 to $20,000. We are open to any ideas you may have that incorporate aviation education. Our grant process is easy with the educational grant application form and is not limited to any age, size of group, duration, or format. Please click here to see an example. The Aeronautics Commission board meets monthly to consider requests. In order to have time to review, we ask that you have any requests sent to ndaero@nd.gov by the last day of the month. Please contact us to discuss how this can apply to your endeavor and increase its success!

As we develop guidelines, please consider what precedent has been set for educational grants:

Standard

  • Transportation costs to access aviation educational venues, such as the Air Museums
  • Curriculum
  • Educational material
  • Educational presenters
  • Aviation Career Day costs

Open for consideration

  • Educational tools or supplies
  • Needed technology for aviation education
  • Flight simulators
  • Aviation educational programming
  • Educator education

Without precedent (but possible)

  • Brick and mortar
  • Aircraft
  • Flight instruction

Not to be considered

  • Education that is not directly related to aviation
  • Aviation education not benefiting North Dakota residents
