Pursuant to Senate Bill 2015 (Section 11), "Each executive branch state agency, excluding entities under the control of the state board of higher education, considering the development of an information technology project with an estimated cost of $100,000 or more shall involve the information technology department in the planning and study of the project, for the biennium beginning July 1, 2011, and ending June 30, 2013. A state agency must receive a recommendation from the information technology department prior to proceeding with any study relating to the project.”
Scope is limited to projects identified during and since the 2011-13 IT Planning Process.
Agencies initiate the process in one of three ways:
ITD will use the information provided to conduct a preliminary architectural review. Up to 6-hours of non-chargeable time per architect will be allotted for this effort, so most reviews will not be billed directly back to agencies. Upon completion, ITD will issue an initial recommendation that aligns with one of the following responses:
If the recommendation is to involve ITD’s architects beyond the preliminary assessment, services will become billable at the Architect/Consulting Rate. A cost estimate will be provided, and agencies will be asked to submit a request via ITD’s online Work Management System (WMS).
