What Is EDMS?

An Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) is a collection of technologies that work together to provide a comprehensive solution for managing the creation, capture, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposition of records and information assets of the organization. Major components of an EDMS include imaging, document management, forms processing, eforms, Enterprise Report Manager (ERM), and workflow. The components of the system work together to provide users the tools to process work efficiently and effectively.

How is North Dakota implementing EDMS?

EDMS applications are being deployed via the Information Technology Department to create consistencies across the State of North Dakota. The cost for implementing an EDMS solution varies depending on the extent to which applications will be used by the agency. Please submit an EDMS service request if you are interested in implementing an EDMS solution in your agency.
