On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Center of Digital Government released the results for 2012 Digital State Survey. North Dakota received a "B" after reviewing submissions from all 50 states.
Under the Digital States criteria, a "B" constitutes a state that is "Trending up." This means that North Dakota:

Governor Dalrymple has issued a Proclamation of Cyber Security Awareness Month in North Dakota. The October event is an opportunity to engage state and local government agencies, as well as the general public, to create a safe, secure, and resilient cyber environment. ITD is concentrating on educating agencies to be more aware about the dangers of the Internet and cyberspace. As part of Cyber Security Month, ITD extends an invitiation to participate in a national webcast called, "Cyber Security: What You Should Know to Stay Safe Online" which includes steps to protect yourself and others online. This webcast is hosted by Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
During the first week of October, organizations around the world observe Customer Service Week to celebrate the efforts of customer service. Governor Dalrymple has issued a Proclamation of Customer Service Week in the state of North Dakota. The Information Technology Department is very appreciative of the continuous support and partnership that our customers provide throughout the year and would like to extend a special "Thank you." Together, we are "Preparing For the Future."

ITD's Annual Report, IT Revolution: Preparing For the Future, gives a brief overview of ITD’s divisions and highlights key accomplishments over the past fiscal year. The report shows ITD's committed to provide IT services with excellent customer service. It also summarizes agency dollars spent for ITD services and compares rates against similar services.

The State Information Technology Advisory Committee (SITAC) has completed the Large Project rankings for the 2013-2015 biennium. The results of the SITAC Large Project Ranking have been posted on ITD’s website. These results are communicated to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Legislature as input to the appropriation process.

ITD extends an invitation for you to attend "Cyber Security: What You Should Know to Stay Safe Online," a webcast that provides useful guidance to the non-technical user on the necessary steps to protect themselves and their computers from cyber attacks, hosted by Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
Information Technology Department (ITD) will be phasing out Dispatch on September 16, 2012. This is part of the z/OS upgrade process for the mainframe system and the OnDemand upgrade project. ITD has spent the past few months migrating all Dispatch related Job Control Language units (or JCLs) and reports to OnDemand, which will now be the sole mainframe reporting system. All Dispatch reports that were part of the OnDemand project’s migration phase will be available using OnDemand after the September 16, 2012 upgrade.

ITD has published its Large Project Oversight Report for the 2nd quarter of 2012. It was sent, along with a Cover Letter, to the Legislative IT Committee and Legislative Council.
The Awards Committee of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) recently recognized Legislative Assembly's LEGEND project as one of the 30 finalists in the Cross-Boundary Collaboration and Partnership category.
This is the 24th consecutive year that NASCIO has honored outstanding information technology achievements in the public sector through its Recognition Awards. Emphasis is placed on recognizing information technology initiatives which exemplify best practices, support the public policy goals of state leaders, assist government officials in innovatively executing their duties, and provide cost-effective service to citizens.
Starting on August 8, 2012, State Contract #263 will lapse. Procurement is in the process of securing bids for an authorized reseller and anticipates by October 1, 2012 the new State Contract will be in place.
