This article is about four CIO's outside interests and hobbies. Lisa explains how lessons learned from her hobby are applied to her current job. She believes that concentrating on a goal is a key for success. “Particularly at the World level where it’s very competitive, you must learn to focus and tune out extraneous things,” Feldner said. “You must be reasonable about your assets and resources, and set realistic goals.”

Legacy Email Domain Retiring

The “…@state.nd.us” email domain is being retired on January 1, 2014 as a result of recent changes within Enterprise Architecture.

The “…@state.nd.us” email domain is being retired on January 1, 2014 as a result of recent changes within Enterprise Architecture. A new Email Standard (CT001-13.1), which combines and replaces two previous Groupware standards, no longer includes the “…@state.nd.us” email domain. Going forward, the “…@nd.gov” email domain will be used exclusively.

To ensure a smooth transition, agencies should EITHER:

  1. Use ITD’s online Work Management System to submit an Email request asking that the “…@state.nd.us” domain be retired for their agency OR
  2. Submit an EA Request for Exemption from IT Standard (SFN 51687) to Jeff Quast (jjquast@nd.gov) stating their agency’s plan and schedule for finalizing the transition
